I have a 6 gallon tank in my active humidifier for my walk in humidor. I also run a filter in there. I only use distilled water yet I still get mold on the filter where the filter meets the air. What can I do about this?

I have several glass retailer style cabinets dor my cigars. Nothing as big as a walk in although i am working on maki g one when i add to my home. Ive had that happen with the floral sponges that come in the older humidifier styles. My location and climate is different from yours but heres what ive learned from mine when i had a similar problem. Try using a different filter. I dont know which one you use but make sure its mold resistant. Sometimes the stuff that is used as the filter can cause mold because its not mold resistant. It works to trap it but its not resistant. You might have to change filter more often also. Also a issue could be the quality of air making its way into the walk in whem thedoor is opened and someone walks in. When the door opens the airinside and outside the humidormix and the quality outside going in can be really poor quality foryour smokes. I live in oilfield country so our air is not the best forcigars. What ive done is tryto keep the room that my humidors are in "prefiltered" i vot a hepa filter air purifier from homedepotforthe room my gumidors are in and run it in intervals. About 2 hours everty 6 to 8 hours and itworks vreat i haventhad any real issues since doing that. That way when the door opens amd the air conditions from both outsideand inside the humidor are great qualityair and not making your filter inside your humidor work way more harderthan needed. I hopethis helps.
