curious as to everyones preferred humidity? and to how they create that? ive been using the xikar humidification jars but i see many people think that is too high and that around 69% is better. Also that its better to use boveda's

It is all on preference when it comes to humidity. Some people, like myself, like it a little lower, but in the end there is not wrong answer. Many people like Boveda packs because they are easy to use. Buy them, throw them in, and replace when needed. I use the Xikar Crystal Tubes myself

How much is too much humidity? I just recently bought a Whynter 2.5c humidor and I can't keep it below 70-71%....is that too high? I have the temperature set at 62*F.

I like to keep the temp in my Humidifier between 65 and 70... as for the humidity I like it a little low at 65...I think it's a little better for the again process.

I prefer my humanity to be in the mid 60's. My normal range is 64%-66%. The aging process is helped with a lower humidity then your normal American smoker prefers. Hope that helps

I'm a 65-69 type of guy. I tend to lean towards 65, they smoke better and it's the perfect aging spot.

I like my humi kinda low, around 65-67%. I also end up keeping my humidor a little warmer then I would like say around 75 degrees. I hope that is ok

I personally keep mine around 60% because i age mine before i smoke them. Ive tried boveda and they are ok but as my collection has grown ans so has my humidors i went to cool joes cigar website and use now the silica beads as they are 2 waycontrol. I got plastic test tubes online and drilled zmall enough holes through them and filled them with gently misted with distilled water into the tubes and i can hide them as cigars. Inside a boxor behind a box. Its athseticallly pleasing. But honestly in the end its what you prefer. Everyone is different and its trial and error. I did the whole 70/70 thing and it was good. Butfor aging i prefer 60% humidity amd around 70 degrees.
