I ordered these from Thompson. They arrived pretty dried out. The first one I smoked tasted and smelled like wax. The maduro came through, but the waxy impact mostly ruined the experience. I put them into my humidor and gave then 3 weeks. They definitely benefitted from that time. The next one was far better. I noticed though, that if I pulled the ring off before smoking, the Experiance was far better. I just smoked one and I left the ring on until I had smoked it a bit (my normal process). About 1/5 smoked and I felt like my fingers were oily. I noticed that the ring had turned opaque. I also was noticing that familiar waxy smell. I pulled the ring off, but it was too late. Whatever Thompson allows the maker to put on the ring RUINS this stick. All-in-all, I do NOT recommend this stick...AT ALL! Buy cheap cigars, get cheap sticks! All of my Thompson purchases have had issues. I think there are issues with their storage, packaging, and shipping process. I wont be using them anymore.
